Join KIT Haptics lab.

KIT Haptics Lab. was established in April 2024.
Focusing on the sense of touch, one of the five senses, we are engaged in the following research projects that cross the boundaries between humans, robots, and VR.
(1) Haptic VR: Development of display technology that artificially reproduces the sense of touch
(2) Haptic Perception: Elucidation of the mechanism by which humans perceive tactile sensation
(3) Haptic Sensory Design: Development of sensory evaluation and design methods to utilize tactile sensation as a new value in society
(4) Haptic Teleoperation: Development of teleoperation interface and support system for skillful manipulation of machines
(5) Human Interface: Development of technologies to support human behavior through the sense of touch and force.

Haptics is a research field that crosses diverse disciplines such as robotics, VR, psychology, art and design, and Kansei/affective Engineering, etc.
Therefore, we are widely recruiting enthusiastic students from various fields from inside and outside of the university, Japan and overseas!
